Wine nights at the press

Come join us for a night all about Hunter Valley wines at The Press on the 22nd of March. Our host Kat from Wine Fairy Events (winefairyevents.com.au) loves taking people on a personalised journey of wine tasting, diving into the world of flavours and aromas.

Whether we're trying out different wines with matched cheeses or figuring out the unique notes in each sip, Wine night at the Press are all about making every tasting a fun discovery; a celebration of the little things that make each wine moment special.

Whats included:
-8 wines from regions around Australia
-Handmade German sourdough bread from Starter Stories served with Pukara olive oil & dukkah
-The chance to win a bottle of wine
-Learn from a WSET-qualified host
-Tasting notes for each wine with tips for food pairing

NIGHTS AT THE PRESS

From Friday February 28th, we’ll be opening late every Friday night. Come settle in after work or before dinner with live tunes by local acoustic artists. We’ll be serving up Hunter Valley wines, Newcastle beers and house made cocktails alongside charcuterie boards and little treats. The perfect stop before your weekend begins.

Our wine list will change with the seasons, carefully curated by Kat at Wine Fairy events there will always be new tastes to explore from our wonderful wine region. Our Beer list will also be dynamic, changing to explore new breweries and brews- carefully curated by Katie, who loves beer!

Alex Morris and Friends: a night of spoken word poetry

Join us on the 20th of March as we welcome one of our favourite Novocastrian’s for a night of spoken word poetry.

Spoken Word poems with Alex Morris, an assortment of words to disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed. This night is not for the easily offended but everyone from every walk of life shall be welcomed with open arms. Featuring Poetry at the Pub host David Graham and guest poet and writer the exquisite Jo Lynch.

Doors open at 6.

ITAOM East coast tour

Join us with Maitland based solo artist ITAOM for a night of ethereal pop/rock/indie. An intimate acoustic show, it should be an amazing night.

Michael J Brady Trio 'Bouquet' Tour w. ZEAL.H & Naomi Jones

Join us on the 12th of April as we welcome The Michael J Brady Trio to Newcastle.

Guitarist Michael J Brady weaves melodies between the guitar, double bass, and drum set. With drummer Ryu Kodama and bassist Oscar Peterson, the trio explores the beautiful corners of each instrument through dynamic builds and effects. Brady draws influence widely from guitarists-guitarists like Julian Lage and Tony Rice, and Australian Jazz artists like Alister Spence and Sandy Evans. The trio have toured Australia’s east coast, and performed alongside artists such as Evans, Stella Anning (MEL), Flora Carbo (VIC), and Sasha Gavlek (TAS).
